The Company has implemented a “Pre-work Health Check,” and informed the Union that they see this procedure as an added safeguard for all employees. Local 988 has conducted research into Federal, State, and City regulations and guidance, and while the Company is permitted to ask these questions, they may not make the “Pre-work Health Check” a mandatory condition of employment at this time. Therefore, you may choose to participate or not participate if you wish. No disciplinary action should be taken if you choose not to participate, unless a mandate is issued.

If you think you have been exposed to or have any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home, contact your doctor, get tested, and notify your supervisor immediately. DO NOT go to work unless you have been told to by your employer.
Please inform your supervisor if you feel your area is not being cleaned or is in need of personal protection supplies. The Union urges all employees to:
- Wash your hands often and/or frequently use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol,
- Keep a minimum of 6 feet distance from others, and
- Cover your face by wearing masks or other face coverings.
