Who should the Teamsters Endorse for U.S. President in 2024?

Attention all Teamsters members! You are invited to attend this Special Local Union Meeting, to make your voice heard and help the International select and endorse a candidate for the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. Before we conduct our Straw Poll, you will learn about each candidate’s views on key Teamster issues. The International will present the information gathered from the first-ever Teamsters Rank-and-File Presidential Roundtables with the seven Presidential candidates, which were conducted late last year. These meetings took place at the International Union headquarters, and the candidates were interviewed by panels that included eight rank-and-file members representing diverse backgrounds, occupations, industries, and geographic regions, General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman, and General President Sean M. O’Brien.

We are deeply committed to involving you, the rank-and-file members of the Teamsters Union, in our political endorsement process. Your needs and expectations are not just critical, they are crucial to the International. We are determined to ensure that every member’s voice is heard and considered in decision-making. While Local 988 has the freedom to make local, regional, and state campaign endorsements, the endorsement of the President of the United States is the sole prerogative of the International Union.
